Save the Date…Thursday, April 22, 2010.

The Friends of the TCU Library present its Spring FacultySpeak event on Thursday, April 22 at 5 p.m.   Featured speaker Dr. Fred Erisman’s talk entitled “Build, Buy and Borrow: Three Girls and the Airplane” is based on research for his recent book LinkFrom Birdwomen to Skygirls : American Girls’ Aviation Stories.

Fred Erisman holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Minnesota and taught for thirty‐five years at TCU.

He held the Charles A. Lindbergh Chair of Aerospace History at the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution, during the 2002‐2003 year. A specialist in American popular literature and culture, he has published numerous studies of science fiction, technological fiction, detective and suspense fiction, and the western.

Books will be available for purchase.  Light refreshments will be served.

The Friends of the TCU Library host FacultySpeak once each semester. The event is designed to offer the TCU campus and others an opportunity to learn about faculty research.
