Move of Library Material
In the latter part of December, we moved approximately 50,000 volumes to the Library Annex. Items moved had been located at the West end of the Library. Thanks to all who helped. The major move of bound journals and selected monographs begins January 27th and continues until finished in the spring.
West Façade Construction
The west side of the building is now a construction zone. Material that was near the West wall stacks was moved in December. There is a temporary construction wall that separates construction from the library.
All staff in Acquisitions, Cataloging and Collection Development are now working from temporary offices. Their phone numbers and mail service to them remain the same.
Access Services will be moving and setting up offices at their new location during the spring semester. Until all testing is completed with software for requesting and retrieval, if you need to request a book, journal, or other material that is not on the shelf, please talk to a librarian or other library staff member at the IC desk or the Circulation desk.
The Library is creating new webpages with information about changes to the building, parking, services and collections. These pages will be a work-in-progress in that we will be updating them every few weeks as things change with the construction.
If you would like me to meet with any groups on campus, let me know. I met with Brite students this week and will meet with Staff Assembly in about a month.
